Date: Thursday, January 11, 2007
Time: Starts 7:30:00 PM
Duration 1 hrs 30mins
In a half hour video documentary, Earth Alert presents the story of how oil drilling and efforts to import liquid natural gas into Southern California have shaped the environmental history of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. The 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill is called "the environmental shot heard 'round the world." Ever since, environmental activism has been intense in the part of California. But can it ever be enough to prevent the energy market forces and processes from degrading the environmental quality of this uniquely beautiful part of California?
